I’m not a smoker. But i do appreciate the designs related to smoking type objects. I wanted to talk a little about the zippo lighter. Here is an item that is part of the American icon. When you say zippo, everyone knows what you’re talking about. Everyone has a clear image in their brain about the texture and the shape. I don’t smoke, but i owe a few zippo lighers. I use to to light my candles. I think the design works because of the shape. It’s simple in design and it serves the principle rule of design. Zippo lighters work under harsh weather conditions. The design aids in it’s primary function. Zippo lighers are designed with the idea that form should follow function.
