The latest rage in condo development is loft design. I think a lot of developers are building these live work spaces because consumers want a lot of ceiling space. I think having a high ceiling opens up the livable space. It’s a great way to make the space appear larger then it really is. In the city, people can feel trapped and closed off. Because downtown cities are heavily populated, there isn’t a lot of space available for housing. In the city, you need to maximize your living space. You can do that by creating a visual openness with your ceiling.
I have a friend who recently purchased a condo with his new wife. They bought a loft condo. The ceiling is 15 ft high. The unit isn’t that big, but the space seems larger then it is because of the high ceiling. I was thinking about ways to use that extra ceiling space. I was thinking about creating some storage space. It’s visually appealing, but the high ceiling could be used to add more storage to your apartment or unit. It wouldn’t be that hard to create borders and shelves to the high parts of the wall. I think you could pick up a beginners kit at your local hardware store. Just an interesting thought with regards to loft design.

I think a lot of people overlook the importance of design. I know that i have been frustrated with friends who are not designers about this topic. My girl friends are more understanding, but men seem to not understand the complexities of design. They think that it’s easy to design. Most everything you see in the world has some sort of design element. Most of the business world realizes how important design is to their company. A reputable company usually spends millions to come up with their logo. A nice logo design can build up a brand better then an actual product or service. When it comes to the web, design takes on a whole new level. Web masters know that traffic is very fickle. Web surfers bounce around from site to site. They will only stop for a second on your site. That’s why you have to set up a nice design. You only have one second to catch their attention.
When you are deciding on a design, you look think about three things. First, you should consider the type of blog you operate. Second, you should think about who your readers are. Third, you should pick a design that reflects your personality and style. It’s going to be you who will look at your site the most. Might as well enjoy the way it looks.
I work in the interior design industry. I set up this design blog to just talk about whatever is on my mind. Since i am a designer, i usually go with design related topics. I wish i had the time to get into web design. But until i learn it, i can rely on sites like maxwebdesign.eu. They are good at mixing blog and design. It may look easy, but designing a blog is a lot of work. Not everyone can do it. I say, you should do what you feel most comfortable with. I think people should look to professional designers to do what they do best. I owe my work and career to people who think this way. If everyone started designing on their own, i would be out of a job. Good thing that people aren’t good with design.
Designs that are eye catching don’t necessarily have to be flashy. Look at the simple elegance of tech gear. Look at how smooth and clean your new printer or cell phone looks. Look at how simple the iphone is, yet it is a beautiful piece of hardware. Getting such a design is not easy. Top designers work for days and months to come up with a great design for a product. Think about that the next time you visit the Mall. Check out all the different designs of the products and interior space.

Designers make money out of nothing. We are the digital artists of the web generation. We create computer graphics that pay us big bucks. Any freelance designer knows that there is money is design. If you have a large network of clients, you can earn triple the average US income. You can make six figures if you’re good. I started blogging not too long ago. I got to blogging because a friend of mine got me reading some blogs about blogging. I got turned off by these blogs at first. Most of them seems like scams. But i found a few blogs that i really liked. Doshdosh is a blog that has a lot of good content. The blogger tries to cut out the BS and writes long and informative posts. Bloggernoob is another make money online blog. This blog is updated very often. The site is updated like 3 or 4 times a day. It tries to be honest and sometimes funny. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been talking about the design of objects and buildings. Let’s switch gears a bit and talk about websites. Design by Cha has a simple design. I like the look of my blog because it is simple and clean. My blog was easy to do, but not all sites are created equal. Designing a blog can be hard for non designers. We know how important design is in the real world. Brand name clothes and bags use design to charge big bucks. If you want to launch a new product, you have to spend a lot of money on the design. The way a building looks is almost as important as the structure and support of it. On the web, design gets really important. I would say that design is more important then content. Content won’t get read unless the design of the site is good. Web visitors are fickle. They are quick to leave a site if the design is bad. If you want people to actually read your site, you have to grab their attention. You only have about a second to do it too. That’s where design comes in. A great design can be welcoming. It can project a professional image and bring in new readers. If you want more info about web design blog, visit their design blog and get a quote for a custom web design.

Who says that big is king? Why would anyone think something is better because it’s bigger? Good thing that the tech industry works the opposite way. Technology stuff are cool only if they are tiny. Look at the ipod. Look at the evolution of the cell phone. Look at all of those mini computers and mini portable media players. Small is sexy.
Things just can’t be small. It has to have a nice design. The lines and curves of things defines the design. The colors highlight the forms. Mix all of this together and put it into a small package. Then you have something that will make even the ipod jealous.
The mp3 market is dominated by Apple. Ipods have held the top spot since they first started selling them in stores. The only thing that can kill the ipod is the iphone. Good thing that those products are from the same company. I wonder what will be next for media players? I wonder if they will implant little chips into our bodies. Will the next generation of ipods be invisible? Will we not need batteries for our new ipods? Maybe we can use the energy from out body to power these mini entertainment devices. I think it will happen. I think i read about it in the Bible when i was younger. I think it was in the book of Revalation.

I’m a designer so i think that everything should look good. I know that form follows function, but why can’t functional things be pretty as well. For example, why are most of the speaker sold in stores so ugly. Why do they have to be rectangular? Why why why? I found a lot of cool speakers for my home office. They weren’t that expensive and i think they serve two purposes. If a speakers just play the music loud, it’s just a speaker. But if a speaker decorates your space, then you have functional art. I love my bost headphones. I want a bose home system but i have to save up for it. I was using the free speakers that came with my PC, but i recently bought me some Sony ones. These babies weren’t that expensive and i was able to beautify my desk space. Don’t you just love the little things in life?

I’ve talked about lifelock in one of my earlier posts. I think lifelock is a great service for people who don’t know that much about internet safety. Because a lot web users aren’t very tech savvy, people online sometimes try to hack and scam other people. I’m a designer, so i don’t consider myself an super nerd. I know how to use photoshop and other Adobe software, but i have no clue about how websites are run. i don’t understand how networks and computers talk to each other. I feel naked at time when i surf the web. I get worried every time i punch in my credit card info. It really shouldn’t have to be this way. I should be able to shop and work online without a care in the world. If you are like me, you should think about getting lifelock. Protect yourself with the internet’s best protection. The guys over at lifelock have won numerous awards and they are quickly becoming one of the best computers in America. The service doesn’t cost a lot of money and the protection they give is second to none. It’s like having a bodyguard for your internet. If you want to find more information about lifelock, you should check out the following links in this post. You can save money by using these lifelock promo codes. I just talked about the beauty of Apple’s mac computers. Now i should focus on other PC makers. As far as design is concerned, Sony is great with design. Usually, PC makers fall short when it comes to design. Look at Dell and Toshiba. Just gross! But, Sony still tries to compete in the design department with Apple. They don’t come close, but at least they are trying. I think most PC makers don’t understand how important design is. I know there are tech nerds who just want a super processor and a lot of ram, but normal folks want things that are shinny and pretty. Guys, take a note from Sony and start focusing on some design. If you still want to hold the majority share in the computer industry, work on the design.

The world of design is moving towards the internet. Long time ago, designers came up with their designs by hand. Then the computer changed everything. Great software and super processors make it easy to come up with detailed designs in a flash. Things that would take weeks or months can be finished in a matter of hours. The next evolution of design is happening. Everything seems to be going online. Designers are now finding work online. Email and web applications make it easy to design from home. Designers can work and communicate with clients over the internet. The internet is making everything easier. You can bank, chat, and shop online. The bad thing about this new evolution is that there are a lot of hackers online. Hackers and scammers steal your identity and cost you a lot of stress and money loss. You have to be careful when you do transactions online. If you don’t trust a site, you should seek out more information about the site before you hand them any information. Why does it have to be this way? It doesn’t! You can use life lock to protect your online identity. They have a great service for people who want to safely surf the web. You don’t have to worry about your social security number being stolen or your credit card info. Read more about the value of life lock and lifelock review now.
