I’m learning that you have to regularly update your blog. I recently took on a big design project. I don’t have that much time to post on this blog. I want to keep designbycha up and alive, so i started to take on reviews. This puts some extra cash into my pocket and forces me to update my blog. I am not sure if google will hit me cause of these posts or not. If they do, i will learn my lesson. I don’t have high rankings so i figure it not much to lose. I wanted to let you guys know that i am still here.

The thing that i am realizing is that search engines are not human. These search engines don’t know a real post from a fake one. They don’t know how to read the posts. They just crawl test and images files. They follow links and determine the worth of your site or page. This is why you should post just to update. I read on bloggernoob that you should just post for the sake of posting. I have to agree on that. We shall see.

Money is important for a well balanced life. A lot of my friends and co workers all want to make more money. This is probably true of everyone. It’s because money makes life easier. If you have a lot of money, you have freedom to do a lot of things. If i had money, i could quit my day job and work on my dream projects. I could get out there and discover life. We grow up to think that we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. We are supposed to look inside to judge it’s true character. But, the truth of the matter is that we constantly judge things by it’s appearance. My field of study and work is all about the exterior. It’s about how things look. Design is everywhere. It’s in the health and beauty sector. It’s in the electronic sector. It’s even in the foods sector. We don’t like eating food that look nasty.

Even if you don’t focus on design, it’s a part of your life. The pair of jeans that you buy caught your attention because of design. Maybe the price tag or sale price did it, but you bought it cause it was at least pretty in your eyes.

It may seem like it’s shallow to judge things by it’s exterior, but it really isn’t. Appreciating beauty or design doesn’t make you shallow. It means that you have taste. It means that you have an opinion. It’s human nature to want things beautiful. The natural world is filled with designed beauty.

I like to think that i am very good with my money. But, what do i really know. I like to leave my money matters to professionals. I give my tax info to my CPA. I let my lenders deal with different loans that i have. I ask my friends to look over my credit card bills. All these numbers. All these ones and zeros make my head spin. Give me silver. Give me Black. Give me white. I don’t want purple accents. I just want something comfortable and sleek. And no, Juicy Coulture with it’s towel like sweats is not fashionable. It’s ghetto. I think Paris Hilton has damaged the pop culture world.

The way i look at it, the prototypical designer wears some cool glasses. I fit into this mold. It isn’t by choice. I used to read a lot when i was a kid. And, i played a lot of video games. A lot of bloggers are setting up photo blogs. This seems to be the current trend. I like to dabble in photography, but sometimes it’s hard to lug the big camera around. I was inspired by the design of the website. It was so simple yet so cool. I think i will start my own portfolio site and try to model it after this site.

I’m a women so i have no idea why men are so facinated by their special areas. I have witnessed my male friends having conversations about it for hours on end. I guess it’s a male thing. I like my job, but i don’t want to spend the rest of my life working for somebody. I want to have more creative freedom and i want to make a little more money. The only way that i can see this happening is if i open up my own business. Business doesn’t have to be a brick and mortar establishment. The internet allows people to work from the comfort of their own home. Consultants and design professionals do a lot of freelance work. I’ve worked on a few and really liked how it turned out.

Whether you interest lies with maps or product design, you could think about starting your own design company. As long as you can create something that people want, you can run a successful business. This post started as a post about map design, but it quickly turned into an inspirational post.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is having trouble with drug addiction. She is addicted to prescription sleeping pills. I shouldn’t go as far as saying that she is a drug addict, but it’s still a drug addiction. My friend is a very good person. She is a hard worker and a most caring individual.
