Architect hand
August 28th, 2008 by chaErrol Barron is a New Orleans architect who teaches at Tulane University. He has always been interested in big hulking masonry. The Falstaff Brewery of the city has been something that has moved him. The building may not have the flash and glitz of someone like Frank Gehry, but the building has it’s own sense of style. The strong lines of the building’s exterior give the feeling of strength. The facade does a great job of representing the working class type of building. The building is highly functional and beautiful to look at. The windowless exterior give off the very bold vibe. The building is for work. The work that they do in that building is not for everybody. The work of such architects is something to behold. When you think about design, you have to think about the surrounding. This building does a great job of standing tall against it’s surrounding. It doesn’t overwhelm the natural surrounding. It blends in but you can’t help but notice it’s simple beauty.
