Errol Barron is a New Orleans architect who teaches at Tulane University. He has always been interested in big hulking masonry. The Falstaff Brewery of the city has been something that has moved him. The building may not have the flash and glitz of someone like Frank Gehry, but the building has it’s own sense of style. The strong lines of the building’s exterior give the feeling of strength. The facade does a great job of representing the working class type of building. The building is highly functional and beautiful to look at. The windowless exterior give off the very bold vibe. The building is for work. The work that they do in that building is not for everybody. The work of such architects is something to behold. When you think about design, you have to think about the surrounding. This building does a great job of standing tall against it’s surrounding. It doesn’t overwhelm the natural surrounding. It blends in but you can’t help but notice it’s simple beauty.

I just wrote about the beauty of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. Now i wanted to switch gears and talk about his other masterpiece. The Guggenheim Museum in New York is one of the most beautiful architectural structures in the that great city. The simple curves of the building is an artist shell for the art works displayed inside. Every body knows that the exterior structure is great. I wanted to focus your attention on the interior. Because i am an interior designer, i might be biased about my opinion here. But i have to say it. The Guggenheim is special because of it’s interior. The exterior is wonderful. No body doubts this. But when you walk inside and walk up it’s stairs, you will experience something. The interior is filled with beautiful curves. The color is a simple white. Like Apple’s ipod, i think simplicity is the key to elegant modern design. When you walk around this museum, you will feel like a kid. The interior will inspire you to create an experience with your interior design.
There are critics out there who say that architecture such as this can shade the art inside. It could be true, but if the art is true, it should stand out even if it’s housed inside a masterpiece.

One of the most famous architects of all time is Frank Lloyd Wright. Even people who are not familiar with architecture know this name. Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the designers that changed the way architecture was viewed as a profession. With Wright, the lines and curves of structures were transformed into an art form. Frank was a pioneer to his profession and one of the reasons why i decided to take my chances with design.
I grew up sketching things i saw. When i was a young girl, i would take a pencil and walk out to the local playground. I would draw the things around me. I would trace lines and form shapes that represented my natural surrounding. I was designing. Specifically, i was making the initial sketches for my architectural works of art.
In high school, i first heard the name Frank Lloyd Wright. I didn’t think twice of his building until college. In college, i studied his work in detail. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater was a modern day masterpiece. The structure is a perfect example of the harmony between man made objects and nature. This building uses it’s natural surrounding to blend in a habitat.

Inspiration. Frank Gehry is one of the most famous designing living today. He has managed to build projects that seem to defy gravity. His works go beyond architecture. He designed furniture and jewelry. Frank Gehry is a man of many talents and his visions of the world inspire many.
Cardboard-boxes. His use of cardboard to make functional furniture was revolutionary. The chairs are works of art.
Curvy-lines. The shapes and curves are sexy and clean.
Collection. His jewelery collection at Tiffany are pure heaven. I loved them so much, i had to buy them for my wedding.
Masterpiece. Gehry’s masterpiece in Bilbao Spain.

Zaha Hadid , She is one og the most famous female architects in our time. She is an architect who consistently pushes the boundaries of architecture and urban design. She is the firs and only female architect who got Prizker Architecture Prize in 2004. She was born Oct.31, 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq. Whe studied Mathematics in American University of Beirut. Then She Moved to study at The ARchitectural Association School of Architecture in London. She was working with Rem Koolhass who is her former teacher. ( I posted Rem Koolhass’s work in my previous post. ^^) She became a partner in OMA in 1977. She is currently Progessor at the Univerity of Applied Art Vienna in Austria.
Zaha Hadid, i have to say she uses curved line so well. She uses it so beutifully that make her spaces or objects like an art piece. very feminine and at the same time very futuristic.

Ando Tadao is one of the famous Japanese Architect. His buildings look very minimalism and simple.
most of his buildings are built with concrete walls but he uses it well with nature such as water, light and sky.
He creates beautiful contrast with lights.
what is so great about him is he is self -taught. He was a boxing player before, but he was always interested in architect so he travels around and learn and experience. i really respect that. a lot of people just try to get in good schools and finish up to earn nice title of degree either they like it or not. But Ando Tadao made himself as one of the best architect in the world with his passion and his dream. i can’t wait to have a spacial experience in his amazing buildings.

First time I saw this swiming pool in the magazine i was amazed by the design.
This swiming pool is such a simple design but very unique. I think it is very well designed. The Ocean horizon in the background and the swiming pool not only go well together but also the two different layers of water gives me an amazing feeling. It is beutiful. I love this design.
Also very nice photography. The shot with a little girl in the swiming pool creates a more unique feeling. - The photographer is Roberto Huarcaya-

when i saw santiago Calatrava’s chicago spire building, i was surprised. i had a similar designed building already in my portfolio. my friend joked with me that he stole my idea. but i am glad that i had similar idea with such a great architect and his building. i just want to put my pictures up to prove that i had the idea. ^^
i made a wood model in 2001.

The Chicago Spire building is designed by Santiago Calatrava.
it will be 150 floors building, this skyscraper will be taller than Chicago’s Sears Tower and New York’s upcoming Freedom Tower, as well as Toronto’s CN Tower, to become North America’s tallest free-standing structure and the world’s tallest all-residential building.
The spire is under construction in Chicago, Illinois and scheduled to be completed in 2011 with 150 floors
