I just bought the latest issue of web designer magazines. I have been a fan of this UK magazines for over a year now. I wanted talk about what a great resource this magazine is. I think that a US magazine publisher should come up with a magazine like this. I really like this magazine but i do not like paying the expensive export fee. If a US publisher took on this subject, maybe i could pick up a similar magazine for under $10.
The current issue talks about wordpress theming. I think that wordpress blogs will continue to grow as a web medium. More and more bloggers are getting into site development. As new web masters come into the game, we will see a rise in demand for professionally made wordpress themes. If you want to get started with wordpress theme design, you should check out the latest copy of web designer magazine.
There is another web master magazine that is called practical web design. That is another great magazine source for web designers and web developers.

The thing that makes Apple and their products cool are their packaging cases. I am not talking about the plastic or rubber cases for the ipod or iphone. I am talking about the boxes that these tech products comes in. When you buy a regular phone, you will get some bulky box and a think book for instructions. Apple doesn’t fly this way. They just give you a simple box that is so cool that you will not want to throw away the packaging. This is a great form of marketing. You have to create and package cool gears in a way that is cool for consumers. Make them keep the boxes. Force them to collect the cardboard pieces because it looks cool.
I usually throw away the boxes for my PC or other mp3 players. I do not like having these junky things around in my house. But, i keep all of my mac and apple boxes. I keep them because they serve a dual purpose. I can use these cool boxes as containers around the house. The boxes for mac and iphones are decorative. The design is awesome.

The serious news outlets are talking about policy and presidential decisions of the new president elect. But, some of the minor and more popular news outlets are talking about Michelle Obama. They are talking about Michelle Obama’s fashion sense. I think that there is some pressure for the new first lady. It has been while since we had a younger first lady. Hillary wasn’t that fashionable. But, Michelle Obama could end up becoming a fashion icon if she can delivery the goods. I think that ever since Jackie Kennedy was the first lady, the nation has looked up to the first lady. Young kids do not really care about what the first lady wears, but i think older women like to pay attention.
I really wonder how important these things are. I think that they are all distractions. Why is our society so consumed with the physical and trivial? Why do we care what this actor or that actor is wearing to an award show? Why are award shows even that important? We are all monkeys, but we like to pretend that we are important. I guess that is what culture is. We create gods and we like to feel like gods. This makes us feel less small. If Michelle Obama can pull off a jackie O, the country will become a better place i guess.

Most of you guys are probably away that empty spaces seem smaller then a room filled with furniture. I do not understand the science behind this visual illusion, but there really is something going on with empty spaces. When you visit a new condo development or apartment for rent, the manager will show you a showroom. These showrooms are filled with nice funiture and the layout is done by professional interior decorators. This makes it possible to maximize the appeal for potential investors or renters. When i first visit my place, it was filled with some dummy furniture. The space looked really big and i was glad to sign the lease right away. When the time came for me to move in, i was disappointed by the size of my new apartment. I knew that once the furniture arrived, it would look ok, but i felt kind of down cause the space looked so small.
When you decorate an empty space, you should try to fill it with furniture right away. Using mirrors and anchoring furniture will make the space look a lot bigger then it really is. It will make for a more pleasant living environment.

I had a class in college that was all about hotel lobby design. I think that hotel lobbies are perfect subjects for study. Hotel chains spend a lot of money to make the guests feel welcome. Some of the best hang out places are in the lobby of luxury hotels. When you enter a 5 start hotel, you can notice the difference right away. The material that they use in building that space is expensive. The way the room is set up is unique and fashionable. Even the art pieces are super cool. If you want to get some really cool ideas for your home, you should check out the design of hotel lobbies.
I had to go on a business trip to LA a few weeks ago. When i was in LA, a friend took me to a nice restaurant in a nice hotel. The bill ended up being really high, but the space was so nice that it was kind of worth it. You want to make sure that you set up that type of vibe in your room as well.

I decided that it will take a bit more then just web browsing to learn how to theme web sites. I really do want to get into web design and i want to actively learn this new trade. I don’t have that much free time because of work, but i will save up about an hour a day to learn about web design. I will also devote a few hours during the weekend to this craft.
I bought a few books on blog design. I wanted to work on wordpress design first because it is something i understand. I already tweaked a few themes that other people have designed. I now want to understand it in detail so that i will be able to build a theme from the ground up. I know that i have to learn html and xhtml. I will have to also learn about CSS and PHP. As far as photoshop and illustrator, i already have those two down.
Before i get started, i wanted to inform you guys cause you guys have been with me since the beginning. Who know, if i get good at web design, i might offer my services to you guys.

If you walk into any book store, you should be able to find a large selection of design magazines. Every time i to to borders or barnes and nobles, i spend about a hour at the magazine sections. I head straight towards the design section. I love reading about the new design trends in the market. They have design magazines for fashion and for the web. They even have a pretty big section of interior design.
I work in interior design. I went to school for interior architecture. I consider myself to be a create of space. I think that my job is to make the space around me as pleasant and functional as possible. Most people do not even think about the design of interior space. If you look at your home or office, you will notice distinct design elements. Even if you work space isn’t that hip, you will notice certain elements with regard to circulation and space. Your office or cubicle was designed to look at way. If the space around you is boring, then the designer had that concept in mind.
I think that a lot of offices need a design make over. They should upgrade the 70s styled furnishings and fixtures to something that is more modern. Our company gets a lot of work from tech companies. It appears that the market is headed toward the virtual. The clients usually want a more open environment. And, they are usually looking for something that is contemporary and modern.

I keep getting emails from various institutions about doing paperless bills. I thought about it long and hard and i think that it is a brilliant idea. Instead of receiving paper versions of your credit card bills or banking statements, why not just get digital versions of them. You can keep records via you computer’s hard drive instead of big clunky file organizers. I am in the process of moving all of my paper files to my computer. I plan on scanning or order up a service to get all of my hard copy files digitalized. I think that this will save a lot of save in my office and be more organized. It is easy to do a desk top search on my computer as opposed to thumbing through thousands of file folders in my file drawer.
If you haven’t already converted your old files into the digital format, you should contact your credit card company or online bank today. This will save a lot of energy and trees. You will be doing your part in reducing waste. It is important to take a stand. Our old habits are starting to hurt our environment. And, getting digital copies is a better way. People who do not understand this should really check themselves. Say not to paper waste in the digital age.

I think that we are all creatures of habit. This isn’t a bad thing, but because we tend to form habits, we usually develop bad habits. I have to confess about some of my bad habits. I like to bite on pens. This is something i did ever since i was a little kid. When i am at home in front of my computer, it doesn’t really matter if i bite on my pens. No one will see it. The only bad things is that my teeth get ruined and my pens get damaged. Also, i also run the risk of ingesting ink into my body system. But, when i am at work, biting on my pens can seem very childish. Also, if someone wants to borrow a pen, i will have to refuse. It can be quite embarrassing and disgusting for people who see my pens at work.
Putting something in your mouth that isn’t food can be dangerous. You are letting in dangerous bacteria into your system.
Out of all of my bad habits, smoking has to be the worst. If i am with a non smoker, i feel bad light it up in front of him or her. I feel like a disgusting pig. It isn’t healthy and it definitely isn’t sexy.
